I got lucky and have had 3 good GPU WU back to back. I’m now beating you!

I know, and it’s driving me crazy! I should be crushing it!

I did a little research and it seems that there are more people requesting work than there is work to do - a good problem to have, on the surface of it, but now the organizers of this project need to work on figuring out how to get those jobs out there.

Your CPU is at least going?
My i3-2100 is chugging away though (best way to have a work unit most of the time is to be really slow to complete it)

I would like to have the ability to choose where the processing gets done. That CPU is overclocked to over 5 GHz, but the GPU is stock. Rather than use up the life of the CPU (I know I'm shortening its life with the OC) I'd rather see the more capable GPU do the number crunching.

I mean you can remove the CPU slot and have it never do work there.
I’ve been overclocking for 22 years without cooking a CPU, but 5GHz+ is a pretty nice number. Mine is only at 4.7Ghz, and runs folding at 4.4 because I needed an AVX adjustment. Unless I really want to crank up the voltage, I doubt I get more than another 100 out of it since I haven’t delidded, but doesn’t feel worth the risk of physically damaging the processor to get ~5% more out of it.

I have been having to shut down F@H and restart it in order to get work units. Sits there doing nothing all day but as soon as I restart F@H there’s instantly a work unit for me.

F@H CPU and GPU work units are different tasks. Pulling your CPU out of the work won’t push the work over to the GPU, it will just mean you won’t get any CPU tasks assigned.

Yep, I get that. But if the concern is over-stressing the CPU, that’s what you would want. Alternatively you could limit the number of cores in the hopes keeping overall load low.

I have my CPU turned of in F@H because the VRs on my motherboard are garbage and get way to hot when my 3900x starts folding. I’m replacing the board when my stimulus check comes.
